Say "Goodbye" to slavery...
The 13th Amendment was a turning point in history, because it abolished slavery. As it said in Section 1 of the 13th Amendment, "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." With this, it states that involuntary servitude should STOP within the United States. After this was proclaimed, the lives of our African-American brothers and sisters changed. They were accepted and was treated fairly by Americans and equality spread between regions. Even though the 13th amendment did not fully stop slavery and inequality among the "black" and "white" Americans, it still became an instrument and a stepping stone for change.
